We (Dayna Burtness and Nick Nguyen) are sauna-lovers and regenerative farmers in the beautiful Driftless Area of southeast MN, right outside Spring Grove, MN. We're SO thrilled to be launching Little Dipper Sauna Co.! 

We've enjoyed thermaculture for quite some time now but during late Winter 2024, I (Dayna) fell truly madly deeply for All Things Sauna. Like, I'm talkin' read-every-book, watch-every-video, go-to-Sauna-Days (13 mobile saunas up on the North Shore), annoy-your-friends-with-Sauna-Facts, learn-to-sing-sauna-songs fell in love with sauna! Wanting to share this new passion + pause in our main farming enterprise (pastured pigs) = the stars aligned and Little Dipper was born. 

Oh, and why name a mobile sauna after the Little Dipper constellation? So many reasons, but let me paint you a sensory picture that might indirectly answer that question. Imagine stepping out of a sauna session with your family members or your best friends, not a distracting phone screen in sight. You're deliciously warm through and through -- muscles relaxed, tension melted away, not a care in the world. You grab a cool Treat Water (that's what we call sparkling waters in our house) and wrap up in a cozy towel. As you feel a gentle breeze on your steaming skin, you look up at the clear night sky with your friends and share stories about how you learned the constellations. You feel awe. You feel wonder. You feel so very small, but so connected to your loved ones. You feel good. 

Less abstractly, I chose Little Dipper for the name of our mobile sauna because: sauna ladles are also called dippers (we'll have a collection of our favorite dippers in the changing room!). Also, the Little Dipper is special because it is the home of Polaris, the North Star, which can literally and figuratively guide you Home.
